Comhairle nan Eilean Siar welcomes opinions on its work and is keen to encourage users of this site to express themselves in a clear and open manner. The primary aim of this site is to allow inhabitants of the Outer Hebrides to provide ideas and feedback to the Comhairle on an ongoing basis. To ensure that this site functions properly, all comments are pre-moderated and as a result will not appear instantly. However, the site is monitored on a daily basis and the Comhairle would aim to allow comments to appear as quickly as possible. 2017 Surface Dressing Programme
The Comhairle is expecting to commence the 2017 Surface Dressing programme in Berneray, Uist on 8th May and continue on to other locations in North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist for a further 2 to 3 weeks duration.
Following completion of the Uist works operations will move to Harris and Lewis on or around the 25th May for a further 4 to 5 weeks. Work locations include A859 Harris west side, South Lochs, North Lochs, Bernera and Point.
The travelling public are advised to expect some delays and to comply with posted temporary speed limits, signage and any traffic management throughout the work sites. The Comhairle apologizes in advance for any inconvenience caused. It should be noted that works are weather dependent and are subject to delays.

Change of Polling Station – Notice to electors in Tolsta
As the Tolsta Community Hall is temporarily unavailable, the polling station for 4 May 2017 has been changed to the Tolsta Community Development Limited, which is just across the car park from the Hall. Signage will be in place to direct voters.
