Community Engagement: Consultations, Surveys and Opinions

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar welcomes opinions on its work and is keen to encourage users of this site to express themselves in a clear and open manner. The primary aim of this site is to allow inhabitants of the Outer Hebrides to provide ideas and feedback to the Comhairle on an ongoing basis.  To ensure that this site functions properly, all comments are pre-moderated and as a result will not appear instantly.     Stornoway Regeneration - Phase 1

    The Comhairle's Regeneration Team will be hosting a public Consultation in the Community Rooms, Newton on Seaforth Road, Stornoway from 3pm till 7pm on Monday 4th December 2017. Members of the public are encouraged to come along to view present plans, meet with potential developers and have meaningful input into the areas' regeneration.

    Budget Consultation Meetings

    We are holding an additional meeting on Tuesday 13 January 2016 to consider the Settlement and this will be followed by further public consultation meetings which will be held throughout the Western Isles in January 2016. Further information on the consultation and the opportunity to submit views online will be made available following the Comhairle meeting on 13 January 2016.

    As part of the preparation for a new Local Development Plan (LDP) to guide development and land use over the next 10-20 years, we have initially produced a Main Issues Report (MIR) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Environmental Report for public consultation.
