  • HAVE YOUR SAY - The future development of the Outer Hebrides

    We are consulting on a Main Issues Report (MIR) as part of the preparation for a new Local Development Plan (LDP), which will guide development and land use in the Outer Hebrides over the next 10-20 years. We are now mid-way through the consultation period, which closes on Friday 26th February, and the public are encouraged to comment and help shape the future development of the Outer Hebrides.   • Sound of Harris ferry service: 8-13 Feb 2016

    Please find attached Timetable amendments for the Berneray-Leverburgh ferry service effective from Monday 8th until Saturday 13th February, due to expected tidal conditions. The [smaller] relief vessel Loch Bhrusda is still operating on the route. 

     
  • Failte Cafe Meal Deal

    Failte Café will be open today (3/2/16) in Pointers from 12-2pm. In addition to our usual menu we are offering a special Take Away Meal Deal which includes soup, a sandwich and a carton of fruit juice for £3. We are also serving take away tea and coffee for £1.

  • Severe Weather - Disruption to Services

    The multi-agency Emergency Planning Group for the Western Isles, WIEPCG, met today at 12pm to discuss the severe weather forecast for the Islands on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd February 2016. High winds are expected with gusts of up to 90mph. An amber warning has been issued.
