  • Comhairle unites to protest at no island appointments to CalMac Board

    At its recent meeting Comhairle nan Eilean Siar unanimously supported a motion expressing disappointment at the lack of island based members appointed to the Calmac Board and supported a call for a review of the appointments process.

    With islands at crisis point as widespread chaos engulfs ferry services throughout the Inner and Outer Hebrides as a result of over runs in the Calmac dry docking schedule and the breakdown of MV Hebrides, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is calling for urgent action

    The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wind, covering the Western Isles, on Thursday 10th February. The warning is valid between 0300 and 1200 on Thursday.
