  • Comhairle nan Eilean Siar World Earth Hour 2018

    For the ninth year running, the Comhairle will participate in World Earth Hour. Last year more than 10 million people in the UK, 172 countries and 7,000 towns and cities, took part in the world's largest participation event.

  • New Chairman of Uist Economic Taskforce

    Following a recent restructuring, the first meeting of the Uist Economic Taskforce Working Group took place on Friday 9th March.

    Councillor Iain A. MacNeil was appointed Chairman of the Group.

    Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is seeking expressions of interest from anyone who meets the entry criteria with a relevant degree and would be interested in entering a career in Teaching.

  • Athlete Travel Award Scheme Launched

    Elite athletes from the Outer Hebrides are set to benefit from a scheme designed to support travel costs in the islands. Up to eight individuals could benefit in the Western Isles with £1,500 available per person this year.
