• Budget 2016/17

    Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has set its budget for 2016/17 with £1.439m amount of service savings. The Comhairle was obliged to make the service savings as part of an overall package of £8.5m of savings because of a reduction in settlement funding of 4.5%.

    Failte Café will be open today in Pointers from 12-2pm.  In addition to our usual menu we are offering a special Take Away Meal Deal which includes soup, a sandwich and a carton of fruit juice for £3.  We are also serving take away tea and coffee for £1.

  • 10th Anniversary Womens Cancer Challenge - Saturday 21st May at 12pm

    Just a quick reminder about the Womens Cancer Challenge event taking place from Lews Castle College on Saturday 21st May. It's hard to believe that this is year ten!  Over the last nine years participants in the event have raised over £80,000 for the Lewis branch of Cancer Research UK and it has become the largest sporting participation event in the Outer Hebrides.
