    Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has called for cross party support ahead of a Westminster debate on island renewables taking place on Tuesday 4 July.

    Councillor Donald Crichton, Chairman of the Sustainable Development Committee, has welcomed the debate and said it was important that the Government clarified its position and implemented its manifesto commitment regarding island renewables.

    Tha Comhairle nan Eilean Siar còmhla ri Caledonian Mac a' Bhruthainn, Poileas Alba agus Ùghdarras Port Steòrnabhaigh a' moladh dha luchd-siubhail seirbheisean bus agus bàt-aiseag a bhucadh cho tràth `s a ghabhas.

    Comhairle nan Eilean Siar along with Caledonian MacBrayne, Police Scotland and the Stornoway Port Authority are encouraging travellers to make bus and ferry bookings well in advance of travel.

    The Convener of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has paid tribute to former Councillor Iain MacKenzie who passed away aged 72 on Thursday 29th June.
