  • The Crofting Commission Elections 2017

    The first crofting elections took place in 2012 and the next election will be held in 2017. Elections are held every five years to elect six board members to the Crofting Commission.   • Severe Weather - Disruption to Services - Update

    An amber notification warning of severe weather from the Met Office remains valid from 12:00 on Friday, 23rd December until 06:00 on Saturday, 24th December 2016 - "A spell of very strong south to south-westerly winds is expected to develop on Friday. Gusts of 80 mph are likely quite widely, with westerly winds gusting to 90 mph likely across parts of western and northern Scotland later on Friday and overnight into Saturday.     The multi-agency Emergency Planning Group for the Western Isles, WIEPCG, met today at 2pm to discuss the severe weather forecast for the Islands on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th December 2016.
