2024-25 YLAG Fund Launched

The Outer Hebrides Community Led Local Development Youth Local Action Group (CLLD YLAG) have launched their grant fund. A total of £10,000 is available and each applicant may apply for up to £4,000.

Applications will be accepted from constituted community groups and initiatives that are based in the Outer Hebrides and demonstrate that their project will have an obvious, long-term positive impact on island communities and in particular on young people under the age of 30. Priority will be given to applications that support Gaelic, although that is not an essential criterion.

Projects must contribute to at least one of the YLAG's priorities for 2024-25, which are:

  • Empowering Young People;
  • Dùthchas and Dualchas*;
  • Entrepreneurship;
  • Mental Health; and
  • Personal & Professional Development.

Applications must be submitted by midnight on Sunday 20th October 2024 and successful applicants must be able to spend the money and complete their project between November 2024 and the end of February 2025.

The application form as well as further details about the fund can be found on Community Led Local Development (CLLD, or you may contact the CLLD Coordinator on ohclld@cne-siar.gov.uk

*Dùthchas and Dualchas are Gaelic terms that are not easily translated into English but encompass a wide range of activities, sentiments and attitudes relating to life in the Outer Hebrides. They could cover activity geared towards sustainability and environmental goals, traditional skills and cultural activity, or Gaelic language and heritage.
