Uist and Barra Consultation on Outer Hebrides Local Housing Strategy

Engagement with various groups has been carried out for the preparation of the Outer Hebrides Housing Need and Demand Assessment, which feeds into the Local Housing Strategy (LHS) 2024-29.  An Early Engagement Survey was also undertaken to gauge views on the direction of the LHS.

The Comhairle would like now to consult and engage in person with you to gather as many views as possible relating to the housing system in Uist and Barra. 

Officers from the Housing Service will be in Benbecula and Barra during May and we would welcome your attendance to discuss the following:  

  • The vision for the housing system in the Outer Hebrides
  • The main challenges facing the housing system in the Outer Hebrides
  • What actions will address these issues?

If you wish to be involved in a discussion on these matters and help us to shape the Comhairle's new Housing Strategy, please come along to:

Conference Room, CnES, Balivanich, on Monday 6 May at 2pm for the afternoon session or 7pm for the evening session;

UHI Learning Centre, Castlebay, on Tuesday 7 May at 2pm for the afternoon session or 7pm for the evening session.
