Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places

The Comhairle is undertaking a formal review of polling places and polling districts. The aim of the review is to ensure that all electors have reasonable facilities for voting and, so far as is reasonable and practical, the polling places that the Comhairle is responsible for are accessible to all electors. In considering suitable polling places, the Comhairle must ensure that they are accessible for people with disabilities.

The review seeks comments on the suitability of polling districts and on the venues used as polling places. The draft proposals are detailed online.  The proposals are also available to view at the Election Office, Councils Offices, Sandwick Road, Stornoway.

Comments and representations may be made by 3 November 2023 by post to the Election Office, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Council Offices, Sandwick Road, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2BW or, via email to elections@cne-siar.gov.uk. Persons or bodies making representation should, if possible, give alternative venues that may be used as Polling Places.
