Local Government Election 2022

There will be an opportunity for prospective candidates in the Barraigh agus Bhatarsaigh Ward to meet Malcolm Burr, Chief Executive and Returning Officer, on Tuesday, 18 January 2022 from 5.00pm to 6.30pm in Castlebay School.

The meeting is an opportunity for prospective candidates to ask questions and to obtain information on the roles and responsibilities of Councillors and on the election process covering topics such as the single transferable voting system, the nomination process, postal voting, polling and count arrangements.

There will also be further public information sessions in relation to the Local Government Election run through Microsoft Teams and details will be advertised in due course.
