Free School Meals

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has today issued payments of £40 per child to parents of children who are entitled to Free School Meals. This is to support them during the current school closure period, up until the 1st of February. If it is extended past the 1st of February there will be a subsequent payment issued for any extended period.
A total of £11,240 is going to approximately 155 families for 281 eligible pupils.
William Macdonald, Director for Education, Skills and Children's Services said, "It is extremely important that no pupil in the Western Isles misses out because of school closures due to COVID-19. We are delighted to be able to provide this support."
