Financial Hardship Support Funding

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar continues to have support available for people in hardship and has recently received an additional £81k for this from the Scottish Government. 

Anyone who is experiencing financial hardship and is in need of support can contact the Comhairle on 01851 600501.

There is also a network of foodbanks available throughout the Islands to support those in need.

Families of children who are eligible for free school meals and who find themselves in need of additional food or are experiencing difficulty in heating their home can access support in the form of food parcels or vouchers.

A spokesperson said: "The Comhairle is pleased to have access to funding for those in the community who are experiencing financial hardship. Nobody should go hungry, be unable to feed their children or heat their home.
