    Four awards were made to community groups in the Outer Hebrides following on from the Council Committee meetings recently.

  • Highland Cycle Ability Centre

    Highland Cycle Ability Centre have come over from Inverness. They have taken with them a whole range of bikes for any age and physical ability.They will be on the Stornoway running track from 10am - 6pm Today and from 10am until 12pm Friday.

  • Understanding Our Community's Past – Urras Eaglais Na H-Aoidhe Wins National Lottery Support

    Lucy Casot, Head of HLF Scotland, said: "Understanding Our Community's Past is a great project as it shows clearly how local heritage can be a catalyst for lots of different activities and bring people together behind a common purpose. HLF is pleased to support Urras Eaglais na h-Aoidhe in its plans to, thanks to National Lottery players, enable people to enjoy the history on their own doorstep."

  • Comhairle ‘Youth Champions’

    Comhairle nan Eilean Siar's Policy and Resources Committee today recommended the appointment of two 'Youth Champions', Cllr Finlay Stewart covering Lewis and Harris and Cllr Paul Steele in Uist and Barra.

  • Our Islands Our Future

    Members of the Comhairle's Policy and Resources Committee will be asked to approve a refreshed Joint Position Statement for Our Islands Our Future at this morning's meeting and to authorise the Chief Executive in consultation with the Leader to finalise its terms with Orkney and Shetland Islands Councils.
