• Outer Hebrides Leader 2014-2020 Programme

    The Outer Hebrides LEADER 2014-2020 Programme has supported a number of projects and the Local Action Group, who manage the funds, are seeking applications from businesses and community groups who would like to introduce and develop new and innovative ideas focussing around young people, crofting diversification, renewables and new activities for visitors and locals to enjoy and experience.

    Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has welcomed the Scottish Government announcement of funding for the establishment of a 'Developing the Young Workforce' Group for the Outer Hebrides.

  • Cuddly Toy Appeal - Final shout out!

    Western Isles Community Care Forum are fundraising next month via a cuddly toy tombola at the Carloway Show.  We tried this out at the Lochs Show last year as something different and it proved to be quite popular - a change from the usual bottle stall.  Unfortunately, as members of WICCF gave their toys away last year, we need to find new sources this year!

  • 'New Cap' for Scotland Shooting Team

    On behalf of Harris Gun Club, I am proud to announce that the club's youngest member (aged 14) Andrew Hughson made it on to the 2017 Scottish DTL Junior Team after competing in the Scottish DTL Championship this weekend. Andrew also won the Walter Thomson Trophy as the 2017 Scottish Colts (under 16) Champion

  • Soup and Pudding - Sandwick Community Centre

    There will be an event on tomorrow: Saturday 24th June from 12- 2pm, in Sandwick Community Centre, in aid of MND Scotland organised by one of our young students Amy McClements.
