  • Uist Economic Taskforce Welcomes New Regeneration Strategy for Balivanich

    A meeting of the Uist Economic Taskforce Working Group took place in Benbecula on Friday 24 August 2018.  Issues under discussion included the future provision of affordable housing, the development of economic links with the Faroe Islands and the on-going prospects of a Uist Spaceport.

  • Comhairle Expresses Disappointment at Ferry Delay

    The Comhairle has expressed its disappointment and frustration at the recent announcement that the new ferry which is to be allocated on the Uig-Lochmaddy-Tarbert route will not now be entering service until at least summer 2020.
