Licensing of Short-term Lets

Following the introduction of new legislation, the Comhairle must have a Short-Term Let licensing scheme in place by October 2022.  

Anyone renting accommodation for short term accommodation will require a licence, subject to certain exemptions.  The Comhairle is asking all those with short term lets, or those who have an interest short term lets in the Outer Hebrides, to complete the following consultation to help develop the scheme.  A Comhairle spokesperson said " Short-term lets are an important part of the tourism sector as well as providing vital accommodation for workers coming to the islands.  The licensing scheme is focussed on the safety of these lets and we are seeking views from those involved in the sector prior to finalising the scheme. "
