National Resilience Strategy consultation

The Paymaster General, Rt Hon Penny Mordaunt MP, launched a consultation on the development of a new National Resilience Strategy in July 2021.

As set out in the Integrated Review, the government is committed to developing a National Resilience Strategy, by:

  • Understanding the risks we face, including the impacts they could have, and our exposure to them
  • Investing in preparation to better prevent, mitigate and recover from risks
  • Energising and empowering everyone who can make a contribution to UK resilience

The Cabinet Office has made available a toolkit to help councils engage both the general public and specialist groups and sectors, to understand current perceptions of risk and resilience.

Councils are encouraged to share the materials in the toolkit among their networks to raise awareness of the consultation.

For more information or further guidance, please contact abigail.collier@cabinetoffice.gov.uk and susannah.facey@cabinetoffice.gov.uk.

The consultation closes on 27 September.
