Help Western Isles Libraries & the National Library of Scotland Shape a New Service

The National Library of Scotland (NLS) are working with the Comhairle's library service to develop a new project and are keen to get input from residents across the Outer Hebrides to assist them.

They want to explore how the National Library of Scotland can offer a selection of material from the National Collections to Scottish residents via their local public library. The project aims to explore how the NLS can customise a reader's view of the collections based on their location. They are working on this collaborative project in partnership with the Western Isles Libraries, Aberdeen City Libraries, and Culture Perth & Kinross.

The first part of the project is to find out from as many local people as possible, what topics and range of materials they might be interested in.  People can help with the project by completing a very short survey to share information about what topics they would like to explore further.

The survey is very quick to complete, 10 minutes at the most, and the more response the NLS have from the Outer Hebrides, the better they will be able to collate resources that may be of interest.

The survey is accessible here - https://forms.office.com/r/9tsy6xb96m

Please do get in touch with Western Isles Libraries if you would be interested in providing further help with the project, through being part of a focus group to test the new service. You can contact the library at:
