Design Competition for Local Schools

In partnership with Architecture and Design Scotland, Western Isles Libraries is running a design competition for primary and secondary school pupils in the Outer Hebrides.

The competition is part of the Climate Beacons project which is encouraging conversations and discussion about the climate challenges facing us through a variety of creative activities.

There are two separate competitions, one for P4 to P7 pupils to design a home for the future, and the other for S1 to S4 pupils, to design a community for the future.

Pupils are encouraged to think about the challenges climate change is bringing and to think of creative ways to both mitigate them and adapt lifestyles so we can live more sustainably.

Pupils can use any medium to create their design; an artwork, drawing, sculpture, Minecraft design, Lego or Tinkercad.

The deadline for entries is Saturday 30 October 2021.
