Get into Summer 2021

As part of on-going support for Covid-19 recovery, the Scottish Government has provided additional funding and support to councils to allow development and expansion and summer programmes for children and young people across Scotland that have been adversely affected by the pandemic.

Get into Summer: Motiv8

As part of this programme, Comhairle Sport and Health has launched it's Get into Summer Motiv8 programme this year with a broad range of activities and fun events for children and young people from P1-S2.  More information and booking details for this programme is available on the Sport & Health - Motiv8 - Get into Summer webpage.

Get into Summer: Activity Hubs

A number of summer activity hubs have been established across the Western Isles as a partnership between Education, CLD, Sport & Health and a number of community partners and services in the local area. These hubs aim to provide access to a programme of summer activities for eligible children within reasonable distance of their locality. Access to the Get into Summer hub programme is intended for children that are experiencing continued disadvantage and who will have been particularly adversely affected by the pandemic.

Schools and Summer Hub partners have undertaken significant work before the holidays to identify children and young people eligible to participate and information has then subsequently been provided to parents and carers.

If you think your child should be eligible to attend, please contact enquiries@cne-siar.gov.uk

Get into Summer: Parent Club Support

The Parent Club website has been fully updated to provide information for all parents, carers and young people about ways of getting out and about this summer and provides information, advice and guidance about events and activities in local areas across Scotland. It also contains updates on the latest advice about physical distancing and hygiene rules. Find out more on the Parent Club Get into Summer website
