Gaelic Jobs in the Western Isles

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar wishes to draw attention to Gaelic posts currently available in the Western Isles.

The Comhairle is working closely with Comunn nam Pàrant and job adverts have been issued for an  Early Years Officer based in the Western Isles and a  Manager.

Maggie Wentworth, National Director of Comunn nam Pàrant, said: "The 0-3 age group is a priority for us and vitally important in the development of Gaelic Medium Education, but also in relation to Gaelic in the home and in the community. This project is to encourage new parents to register their children for GME and support the children to develop their Gaelic language skills at the earliest possible stage. Comunn nam Pàrant is very pleased to have the opportunity to support families at this early stage and we look forward to partnership working with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar."

Evelyn Coull Macleod, Gaelic Education Manager at Comahirle nan Eilean Siar, said: "The Comhairle warmly welcomes these new posts. The Early Years is a priority for us and we very much want to support parents who are considering GME for their own child. We would anticipate that the successful candidates would work closely with the Comhairle in order to meet our targets. Effective collaboration in this sector is vitally important for us all."
