Seasonal Grazings Let

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is inviting initial expressions of interest from local crofters / producers in relation to a seasonal grazings let at Scolpaig Farm, Isle of North Uist, HS6 5DH.  Preference will be given to holders of native breeds, particularly cattle.

 Adherence to specific land management requirements will be a condition of let.  There will therefore be stipulations on areas to be grazed, stocking requirements (minimum and maximum) and the intensity and timings of grazing.  Furthermore, the lessee will be required to comply with SG GAEC (Good Agricultural & Environmental Condition) guidance, in particular GAEC 6 which can be viewed here  .

Interested parties must be prepared to engage with the Comhairle around land management requirements and monitoring prior to entering into a formal agreement.
