Precautionary Closure – Stornoway Primary

Following a confirmed case of Covid-19 linked to Stornoway Primary, it has been decided to enact a precautionary closure of the nursery and the school for Thursday 4th and Friday 5th March.

Due to the circumstances of the Covid-19 case, it impacts on key aspects of the operation of both the school and nursery but the Stornoway Childcare Centre is not affected and will be able to operate as usual.

  • A provision will continue to be made at the school for the children of critical key workers. Any key workers urgently requiring to use the school or nursery tomorrow should register at the front entrance at 9.00am.
  • The Stornoway Childcare Centre will remain open as usual
  • Meals will be provided for any pupils attending  and meals provided to partner nurseries from the Stornoway Primary kitchen will continue to be delivered
  • School transport for Stornoway Primary will not operate but will be replaced by an on-demand service for any key workers requiring it via contact with the Education Resources office via the main council number 01851 600501.
  • All staff except those needed to staff the key worker hub will work from home to provide remote learning to pupils not attending.

Further information will be provided to parents today about arrangements for the remainder of this week and for reopening next week.
