The Stornoway Big Sleep Out

You may have heard of The Big Sleep Out (organised by Social Bite, a Scottish charity) which is going global this year. The aim is to have 50,000 people sleeping out all over the world and to raise $50,000,000 which will help an estimated 1,000,000 homeless and displaced people.

In order to do our own small bit locally, some Comhairle employees, councillors and other volunteers are going to spend the night of the 7th December sleeping in the vicinity of the Failte Centre. If you'd like to participate you are more than welcome!

It goes without saying that warm clothes and a sleeping bag are essential. Tents are not allowed I'm afraid. It will be weather dependent but should go ahead unless the forecast is atrocious. It may end up being less of a 'Big Sleep Out' and more of a 'Wee Norrag' but at least we all have warm beds to go home to.

If you can't join us then please consider making a financial donation using the link below. Donations will be shared between local and worldwide homelessness charities.
