Cycling Without Age Scotland now generates "miles of smiles" across Scotland and its reach and impact are growing every day. It enriches and enhances lives, unlocks doors, enables older people to once again be an active part of their communities, once again to "feel the wind in their hair", to rekindle old friendships and to make new ones and to rejoice in heart-warming stories.

Cycling Without Age Scotland (CWAS)  Chief Executive Christine Bell, aims to start a 'chapter' of the charity in Lewis and Harris.

Christine has booked to visit the island on Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th August to meet with local community groups and show off a CWAS trishaw.

We are holding an information evening in Sandwick Hall on Wednesday 11th August, 7:00pm - 8:00pm which will give an opportunity for groups or individuals who are interested in the project to meet Christine and find out more about the charity. There will also be a short talk from Angus Macdonald (former MSP Falkirk). Mr Macdonald was instrumental in setting up a very successful 'chapter' of CWAS in Falkirk. Christine will also be visiting Sir E Scott School on Tuesday 10th August.

Below is a short video clip and link to the website which explains more about the charity CWAS.

If there is sufficient interest, there will be an opportunity for up to 10 individuals to train as 'trishaw pilots', which means they will be able to take people out on a trishaw and also train up others to be 'pilots'. The training takes one hour and is done in a group of up to 10. If you are interested in taking part in this training please let me know by replying to this email.

Please pass on this email to anyone you think may be interested in the event.

I hope you agree that this is an exciting and inspiring community initiative, one which you are willing to support.
