Scottish Government’s Social Security Research Team Visit the Western Isles

Date: Wednesday, 20 March, 2019 -
Start Time: 0:00
End Time: 0:00
Location: Stornoway Town Hall
Address: South Beach, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis

The Scottish Government's Social Security Research Team will be visiting the Western Isles on 20th March 2019. We'd like to invite you to come along and tell us your views on Scotland's new social security system. We will be carrying out focus groups and information sessions, where you can tell us your thoughts and ask researchers questions about the work done so far.

We are particularly interested in discussing:

  • The service standards for advocacy services
  • What kind of appointments you would like, and how to book them
  • What local services you might need, and how you would use them
  • Your thoughts on transferring existing DWP cases to Social Security Scotland

Focus groups will last around 90 minutes, with information sessions afterwards. The event will be held in a fully accessible location in Stornoway and we will pay all travel and childcare expenses.

At the event, there will also be the chance to join the Social Security Experience Panels, which means you can take part in future research to help design social security in Scotland. Joining the Experience Panel is entirely optional, and you can take part as much or as little as you like.

For further information or to sign up, please email SocialSecurityExperience@gov.scot or call (Freephone) 0800 029 4974 to speak to our helpline.
