Buth an Rubha & Cafe Roo (Point shop and cafe)

Point community shop and cafe is now open in the former Knock School. The opening hours are:
Monday - Saturday: 8am - 8pm

Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais (Lewis Sports Centre)

Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais is a state of the art sports facility offering a wide range of physical activity opportunities and it is the regional sports facility for the Outer Hebrides.

Ionad Stoodie Location

Ionad Stoodie is where Point Football Club are based and it is also available for use as a Community facility. The facility is situated in Garrabost alongside the football pitch and bookings can be made by contacting Iain Macsween, 07884 067098.

Local residents can attend any of two Practices in Stornoway:

Broadbay Practice    is located on Francis Street, Stornoway. 

Group Practice is located on Springfield Road, Stornoway.

 

Education

 

Sgoil an Rubha is the local primary school catering for preschool, primary and gaelic medium children.

Nicolson Institute is the local secondary school located in Stornoway catering for children aged from 12 to 18 years old. 

Pre School Gaelic and English provision is available in Sgoil an Rubha.

Clubs for Older People

Cairdean Og Allt Nan Gall Club (Aignish, Knock, Swordale, Garrabost and Bayble)

Day/Time:   First Tuesday of each month from 2-4pm.
Venue:        Ionad Stoodie, Garrabost, Point.

Details:       An afternoon club for the over 60's offering socialising, refreshments and home baking, as well as occasional guest speakers, days out and events.

Young At Heart Club

Day/Time:   Every second Thursday at 2pm-3.30pm.
Venue:       Aird Community Hall, Point.
Contact:     Ken Nicolson, Sheshader, Point.
Details:      The Club offers refreshments (for a small fee), home-baking and conversation. Also offers occasional speakers, Christmas Meal, as well as local and annual mainland trips. Closed during summer.
