Community Engagement: Consultations, Surveys and Opinions

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar welcomes opinions on its work and is keen to encourage users of this site to express themselves in a clear and open manner. The primary aim of this site is to allow inhabitants of the Outer Hebrides to provide ideas and feedback to the Comhairle on an ongoing basis.  To ensure that this site functions properly, all comments are pre-moderated and as a result will not appear instantly.     Local Community Invited To New Dual Fuel Ferry Meeting

    Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) will host a series of public meetings to update communities on the design and build of the new dual fuel vessel for the Skye Triangle route and to discuss harbour infrastructure at Uig, Tarbert (Harris) and Lochmaddy. Communities are invited to attend their local meeting.

    Stornoway Library Coffee Shop Auction of Furniture and Equipment

    The Comhairle is offering for sale, by sealed bid, a range of surplus catering equipment. An example of the items can be inspected at the location shown: Stornoway Library, 19 Cromwell Street, Stornoway, HS1 2DA  (within old Coffee Shop space).

    Local Government Elections: 4 May 2017

    The Returning Officer, Mr Malcolm Burr, is reminding prospective candidates wishing to stand for the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar local government election that the deadline for submitting nomination forms is 4.00pm on Wednesday 29 March 2017. It would be helpful if forms were returned as early as possible to allow the Election Team to conduct an informal check.

    Crown Estate Consultation Ends on 29th March

    With just one day to go of the Scottish Government consultation on the Crown Estate, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is reminding people to make their views known. The consultation ends on 29th March. The Comhairle has called for a pilot scheme to be run in the Islands which could form a model for how the Crown Estate revenues and management could be devolved to coastal communities.
