    Malcolm Burr, Chief Executive of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, has been appointed by Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Michael Matheson, to jointly lead a review which will consider how the executive of Scottish Police Authority (SPA) can best support its Board to take informed, transparent decisions.

     
  • Slàinte Mhath Scheme

    Comhairle nan Eilean Siar's Education, Sport and Children's Services Committee yesterday agreed a proposal to offer free "Slàinte Mhath" memberships to groups supporting vulnerable or "At Risk" children across the Islands.

  • Hebridean Norsemen

    A new exhibition in Museum nan Eilean, Benbecula, 'Hebridean Norsemen' explores the Norse period in the Outer Hebrides from the first arrival of the raiding Vikings to their settlement on the islands. The exhibition charts changes in the daily life of the inhabitants of the islands, the importance of craft activities and the artistic and religious life of the immigrants.
