This scheme is now CLOSED.

The Taic Freumhan Coimhearsnachd funding programme was established to help community groups to undertake projects in support of the National Gaelic Language Plan.

Bòrd na Gàidhlig is offering organisations the opportunity to bid for funding for initiatives which will encourage and increase the learning and use of Gaelic within communities, by supporting at least one of the following National Plan priorities:

  1. Home and Early Years
  2. Education: Schools and Teachers *(extra-curricular activities only)
  3. Education: Post-school Education
  4. Communities
  5. Arts and Media
  6. Heritage and Tourism

Priority is given to projects which focus on the use and/or acquisition of Gaelic.  Applications may be made for funding which will be spent on projects between 1st April 2017 and 30th June 2018.

The closing date for applications is Friday 13th January 2017.  Bòrd na Gàidhlig will not accept applications which are received after 5pm on 8th February.

Guidelines for Applicants can be accessed on this page.

If you have any questions please phone Bòrd na Gàidhlig on 01463 225454, or email tabhartas@gaidhlig.scot

It should be noted that a successful application in terms of Taic Freumhan Coimhearsnachd 2017/18 would disqualify the project from receiving additional funding in terms of Bòrd na Gàidhlig's GLAIF fund 2017/18
